Golden Silk  Botanical Butter is our proprietary blend of 75% East African Butter and 25% Kpangu Butter, created in-house to offer the richness of an exotic botanical butter with a smoother, silkier and more elegant skin feel. This the top tier elite of butters. 

We developed Golden Silk for formulations where you want the conditioning benefits and luxurious texture of a plant butter without an overly heavy or greasy finish. The addition of Kpangu Butter transforms the sensory profile of the East African Butter, creating a beautifully balanced butter with excellent glide, easy spreadability and a soft, velvety after-feel and would whip up perfectly. 

Golden Silk  can be used anywhere a premium botanical butter is desired and is especially suited to formulations where texture and skin feel matter just as much as richness.

Why We Created Golden Silk

Natural botanical butters can be wonderfully nourishing, but some can leave formulations feeling heavy, waxy or oily.

Our goal with Golden Silk  was simple: keep the richness, improve the feel.

By blending East African Butter with 25% Kpangu Butter, we created a distinctive formulator butter that feels silkier and more refined while retaining the character of the original botanical oils.

Suggested Usage

Body butters & balms: 10–100%
Creams & lotions: 2–15%
Hair conditioners & masks: 2–10%
Lip & solid balm formulations: 5–30%
Facial formulations: 1–10%

These are starting formulation ranges rather than fixed limits; the ideal percentage will depend on the desired consistency and the rest of the formula.

Formulator Tip

Try replacing part or all of the shea or mango butter in an existing formulation with Golden Silk  when you’re looking for a smoother glide and less-heavy finish.

For an especially elegant body butter, pair Golden Silk with hemisqualane or squalane to further lighten the after-feel.

Texture & Appearance
A smooth botanical butter with a naturally rich, creamy texture and excellent spreadability. Color, aroma and consistency may vary slightly between batches due to the natural botanical materials used.
Solubility-Oil soluble
Add to the oil phase of emulsified formulations or use directly in anhydrous products.
Processing
For best results, gently heat only as necessary to melt and incorporate. Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive heat.

Storage

Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Natural variations in texture or crystallization can occur with temperature fluctuations and do not necessarily indicate deterioration.
