Flax Seed Oil is extracted from the dried, ripened seed produced by the flowering Linum usitatissimum plant. It is native to the region extending from the eastern Mediterranean to India and was probably first domesticated in the Fertile Crescent.
This oil checks nearly all the boxes when it comes to its benefits for the skin on your face. It's a good moisturizer because it locks the water molecules close to your skin, keeping it hydrated, while promoting healthy, radiant skin because it is rich in nourishing fatty acids.
With a high concentration of Omega-3, flaxseed oil provides anti-inflammatory properties, making it efficient at soothing dry skin and can also help you get rid of acne or prevent it. Additionally, the precious Omega-3 refreshes your skin cells and lightens discoloration, making your skin firmer and more elastic, providing you with a more even skin tone overall. When applied topically, Omega-3 helps the skin repair itself, which can smoothen out wrinkles, treat dark circles, and iron out any other irregularities.
The oil can be used directly on the skin or combined with other natural ingredients like jojoba oil to impart certain benefits.

It treats damaged, dry, and itchy skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis due to omega-3 fatty acids. It is an emollient that provides hydration but, at the same time doesn’t clog pores. Also, Flax Seed Oil works to improve softness and elasticity when the saturated fats and oleic acid penetrate the hair shaft, while the polyunsaturated fatty acids on the surface create a film that acts as an emollient and slip agent, making detangling easier. Additionally, the film adds gloss and shine to your tresses, while maintaining an optimum moisture balance by minimizing the diffusion of moisture into or out of hair.
