Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides MCT is a unique mixture of caprylic and capric fatty acids that are bonded to a glycerin molecule. It is commonly mistaken for fractionated coconut oil, which is similar in structure, but primarily refers to coconut oil with the longer chain triglycerides removed. Chemical analysis reveals that the majority of fats and oils are composed of triglycerides that contain 6 to 12 carbon atoms, with this particular ester consisting of capric (10 carbon atoms) and caprylic (8 carbon atoms) fatty acids.

Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides MCT is a specialized form of Coconut Oil that exclusively utilizes caprylic and capric fatty acids, while Fractionated Coconut Oil is a standard distillation of Coconut Oil that contains a combination of all fatty acids that are extracted during the distillation process. This product is known for its non-greasy and lightweight consistency, appearing as an oily liquid. It serves as an emollient, dispersing agent and solvent.
