Description

The epidermis is the outer layer of our skin that provides oxygen and nutrients necessary for maintaining the epidermis. Where the dermis and the epidermis meet is called the dermal-epidermal junction (DEJ) and is vital for the communication between the dermis and the epidermis. This part of the skin layer plays a role in numerous processes, including cellular differentiation, migration, proliferation, and repair. The DEJ is also involved in immune system responses, such as the inflammatory response mechanism, triggered via chemical signals relayed across the dermal-epidermal junction. Toning peptides are intended to improve the integrity of the DEJ and improve the complexion's overall appearance by increasing tone and elasticity. This results in decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The dermal-epidermal junction is predominantly constructed out of collagen, glycoproteins, laminins, and other proteins. The concept is that its condition is responsible for wrinkle formation, elasticity, and tone.

Toning Peptides may be incorporated into lotions, creams, and gels that are intended to act as anti-aging products and other products designed to reduce the appearance of physical damage. As a water-soluble, fermented yeast extract, this product can be incorporated into virtually any aqueous system.
