Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-20 contains an innovative a-MSH biomimetic peptide able to act on the different causes of the hair greying process. It offers an unprecedented, efficient solution to prevent, stop, and reverse this inevitable sign of aging.
Hair graying is a common sign of aging, caused by the complex regulation of melanogenesis. Several factors control melanogenesis stimulation at the hair follicle level, including MSH, adrenocorticotropic hormone, prostaglandins, leukotrienes, neutrophils, fibroblast growth factor, nitric oxide, catecholamines, vitamins, and minerals. Premature hair graying (PHG) can significantly impact an individual's cosmesis, self-esteem, and social life. Unfortunately, there are currently no medical treatments available for PHG.
We present a case of a 25-year-old female who experienced premature graying/canities. She was prescribed a topical formulation which contained palmitoyl tetrapeptide 20 - a biomimetic biopeptide of α-MSH - to treat her PHG. The patient was instructed to apply 1 mL of the formulation twice daily directly on the affected part of the scalp. Additionally, we prescribed hair supplements containing a combination of biotin and calcium pantothenate to be taken orally once a day.
Study Results:After three months, the patient showed some improvement, and the dose of the topical solution was reduced to 1 mL once daily. After five months, the patient achieved over 90% conversion of gray hair to black hair.
